A stunning road legal Porsche 911 GT1 Evo has been sold in Monaco for $3.1 million. This fabulous auction took place at the RM Sotheby’s over the week-end.
The 911 GT1 was a homologation special built by Porsche. This particular version is the GT1 Evolution. The car was fully restored in 2014–2015 by Lanzante Motorsports in the United Kingdom at a cost in excess of £300,000 and never ran for more than two hours since. The GT1 Evo is powered by a 3,164 cc air- and water-cooled horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine with two KKK turbochargers. Total power is well above 600 horsepower. All of that power is sent to the wheels via a five-speed manual transmission.
This road legal impressive auto appeared at the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed in company with Porsche’s Le Mans-winning Type 919 Hybrid. Most recently, a GT1 was sold at the Gooding & Company auction in Amelia Island in 2012 for $1.26 million. Both these deals and cars are outstanding!
